Dan Paolantonio is an academic and filmmaker whose wide-ranging practice has encompassed everything from international film festival curation, artists film & video and experimental documentary to television commercials. As the co-founder and co-director of Imperfect Cinema, Dan has produced events across the UK, in continental Europe, and the USA, working with partners such as Supersonic Festival (Birmingham, UK), Situated Cinemas (Vienna, Austria) and Interstate Galleries (New York, USA). Dan’s current film work seeks to aestheticize constructed communal spaces and to explore these by foregrounding the formal qualities of ritual. Dan is currently a Lecturer in Creative Media and Filmmaking at The University of Plymouth.
